Second Arrest in Windsor Bike Robbery Assault

Windsor police have made a second arrest in connection with a violent robbery that occurred on Tuesday, leaving a woman injured. The incident took place in the downtown core, in the area of Ouellette Avenue and Tuscarora Street, around 2 p.m.

Details of the Incident

According to police, the woman was riding her bicycle when she was confronted by two male suspects who were known to her. One of the men allegedly knocked her off her bike and yelled, “Get her.” As she attempted to flee, the woman was struck in the head with a metal water bottle. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspects stole cash and an MP3 player from the woman before fleeing the scene.

Arrests Made

Shortly after the incident, Michael Jordan Coates, 36, was located and arrested in the 800 block of Ouellette Avenue. He faces a charge of robbery with violence.

On June 19, patrol officers arrested the second suspect in the 300 block of Glengarry Avenue just after 8 a.m. He is charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, and disobeying a court order.
