Four individuals have been arrested following a major drug bust in Fredericton, where police confiscated what they describe as 'significant quantities' of illegal substances. The seizure occurred on April 30, 2026, and was announced by the Fredericton Police Force on Wednesday.
Details of the Seizure
According to a press release, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the city's south end. During the operation, they discovered and seized a substantial amount of cocaine, methamphetamine, and other controlled substances, along with drug paraphernalia and cash. The estimated street value of the drugs has not yet been released, but police confirmed the quantities were significant.
Charges Laid
Four suspects, whose names have not been disclosed pending court appearances, face multiple charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking in controlled substances, and possession of proceeds of crime. They were taken into custody and are scheduled to appear in Fredericton provincial court at a later date.
Police stated that the investigation is ongoing and further arrests are possible. They also emphasized the importance of community tips in leading to the seizure, encouraging anyone with information about drug activity to come forward.
This operation is part of a broader effort by law enforcement in New Brunswick to combat the illegal drug trade and reduce the availability of harmful substances in the region.
