Nicole Eggert is opening up about her cancer journey, and she is doing it on her own terms. The former Baywatch star shared a striking Instagram post on Wednesday, showing the scars from her surgeries. Wearing a white lace corset bra and distressed jeans, the 54-year-old made it clear she is still standing after a long, difficult fight. Her blonde hair, now styled in a pixie cut, framed a look that felt both vulnerable and defiant.

In the caption, Eggert kept things reflective but hopeful: “Grief can arise from many life situations, but know it is not a permanent state of being,” followed by hashtags including #breastcancer and #menopause.

Response Was Immediate

Friends and fans flooded the comments with support, reports HELLO!, including Alyssa Milano, who wrote: “Insanely beautiful and I love you.” One fan chimed in with a heartfelt compliment, saying Eggert looks even “more gorgeous now” than when she was younger.

Eggert's Diagnosis and Treatment

Eggert first shared her diagnosis in 2024 — stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer, according to HELLO! What followed was grueling: eight months of chemotherapy and radiation, then a mastectomy and reconstruction surgery in August 2025.

The Fight Didn't Stop There

Just last month, she revealed on social media that she had undergone a full hysterectomy after doctors found early signs of more cancer. “I am grateful to my doctors for keeping such a close eye on me,” she wrote, noting that the procedure reduces the risk of at least seven types of cancer.

Through it all, her two daughters — Dilyn, 27, and Keegan, 14 — have been her driving force, per the Daily Mail. Eggert has tried to shield them from the harshest parts of her illness, but she has also been honest when it mattered most.

‘My World Shattered’

Speaking to People in October 2025, she explained how she handled those conversations. With Dilyn, it was straightforward. But telling Keegan, who was just 12 at the time, was much harder. “The look on her face when I told her it was cancer … it just … my world shattered,” Eggert said. “I knew I couldn’t leave that little girl without me.” That moment, she added, made one thing clear: “I had to fight this and win.”

Reflecting on Baywatch

Even as she deals with serious health challenges, Eggert has continued to reflect on her past career. In a previous Toronto Sun story, she revisited one of Baywatch's most iconic elements — the slow-motion beach running scenes. Speaking on Still Here Hollywood with Steve Kmetko in May 2025, she revealed the now-famous technique was not planned at all. “We had no idea that there was such a thing as slow motion. We trailblazed that,” she said. According to Eggert, who played Summer Quinn for two seasons on the hit show, it all started by accident in the editing room — a timing issue that turned into a signature style after viewers loved it. Back then, she recalled, the cast was simply “running full speed,” adding with a laugh that “full-speed running in slow motion is not cute. Not cute at all.” Later actors adjusted their movements once the look became part of the show's identity. Baywatch ultimately ran for nine seasons, from 1989 to 2001, becoming a pop culture staple.
