Just in time for the FIFA World Cup, Lay's is introducing four limited-edition flavours in Canada. The snack company is releasing chips inspired by host nation Canada and other countries, including France, Argentina, and the United Kingdom.
Canada's Flavour: Bacon Poutine
Representing Canada, one of the host nations, is Lay's bacon poutine flavoured potato chips. The bag's cover features two Canadian team players: Richie Laryea, a Toronto FC star fullback, and Nathan Saliba, who plays midfield for Belgium's Anderlecht. According to Lay's, this flavour is a celebration of Canada's most iconic comfort food, combining the taste of rich brown gravy, creamy and salty cheese curds, and smoky bacon.
Other International Flavours
Inspired by France is Lay's cheese soufflé flavoured potato chips, which the company says delivers a creamy and sharp toasted cheese experience. For Argentina, the reigning FIFA World Cup champions, Lay's offers steak & chimichurri flavoured potato chips, bringing tangy and herby chimichurri notes with a hint of grilled meaty flavour. Representing the United Kingdom is the country's most popular flavour: cheese and onion potato chips, pairing sharp cheddar cheese with savoury onion.
Availability and Promotion
The flavours hit shelves mid-May, ahead of the opening kick-off on June 11. They are part of Lay's 40-flavour potato chip drop globally, inspired by competing nations' cuisines. Canadian fans can also purchase two participating Frito-Lay products and visit NoLaysNoGame.ca to upload their receipt for a chance to win two tickets to one of 13 Canadian FIFA World Cup 2026 matches taking place in Toronto and Vancouver, plus $1,500 CAD spending money.
