Road Closures and Travel Advisory

Blockades have been set up at the intersection of Highways 734 and 591, the corner of Coal Camp Road and Highway 734, and on Highway 584 east of Highway 734. RCMP have stated that no one is permitted to enter the area while emergency crews are responding.

Extreme Fire Warning in Effect

Calgary and the surrounding areas are currently under an extreme fire warning. According to the Alberta Fire warning, forest fuels are extremely dry and pose a very serious fire risk. Fast-spreading, high-intensity fires are likely, which are very difficult to control.
