Condor Energies Inc. (TSX: CDR), a Canadian-based energy transition company with operations in Central Asia, has announced successful results from its K-42 vertical pilot well on the Kumli NW development pad in Uzbekistan. The well reached a total depth of 2,462 metres and confirmed a 2.3 km northeast extension of the reservoirs previously identified in the K-45 vertical well and subsequent horizontal wells K-46 and K-47.
K-42 Drilling Results
Open-hole wireline logs from K-42 identified 26.5 metres of net carbonate reservoir across six intervals. The main pay zone showed similar dolomitization and average porosity of 15% compared to the earlier K-45 well, with a 22% thicker net pay interval. This consistency demonstrates the repeatability of Condor's development program and validates its geological models, reducing risk for future horizontal drilling.
The K-42 well is expected to be tested later this month after completion, with production anticipated to begin in early July 2026, tied into the existing pipeline system.
Second Rig Spuds K-44 Horizontal Well
Condor also announced that a second drilling rig has begun drilling the K-44 horizontal well on the same pad as K-42 and K-43. This marks the first pad-drilling operation in Uzbekistan, which is expected to provide faster, lower-cost well tie-ins and capture operational synergies.
CEO Statement
Don Streu, President and CEO of Condor, commented: "The K-42 results are an important milestone in materially increasing our near-term production volumes and cash flow. The wireline log data validates our geological modeling and increases the probability of strong gas flow rates from the upcoming K-43 and K-44 horizontal wells. We also see additional prospectivity beyond the planned total depth of the K-44 lateral section. Near-term production growth will be supported by drilling four additional horizontal wells targeting a deeper nine-meter net gas pay section."
