Main Street Project is currently collecting bottled water donations during the extreme heat conditions in southern Manitoba. Four cases of water were recently donated on July 10, 2026, as temperatures soar.
Heat Warnings in Effect
Heat warnings are in effect throughout parts of Manitoba as an oppressive heat wave arrives. Residents are urged to take precautions to stay safe and hydrated.
According to Environment Canada, temperatures are expected to reach dangerous levels, increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses.
Community Response
Main Street Project is among organizations stepping up to help those in need. Donations of bottled water are being accepted to ensure vulnerable populations have access to hydration.
“We are grateful for the community’s support,” said a spokesperson for Main Street Project. “Every donation helps keep people safe during this extreme weather.”
Safety Tips
Health officials recommend staying indoors during peak heat hours, drinking plenty of water, and checking on elderly neighbors and those without air conditioning.
Residents are also advised to avoid strenuous outdoor activities and to never leave children or pets in parked vehicles.
