A 24-year-old man from Nova Scotia died Wednesday after being thrown from a boat in the Northumberland Strait, according to authorities.

The incident occurred near Oak Island on July 2, 2026. Emergency services were called to the area around 1:28 p.m. EDT. The man, whose name has not been released, was reportedly thrown from the vessel under circumstances that remain under investigation.
First responders located the victim and transported him to shore, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The RCMP and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax were involved in the response.

Police have not disclosed what caused the man to be ejected from the boat. The vessel has been secured, and investigators are interviewing witnesses. No charges have been filed at this time.
