An evacuation alert has been issued as an out-of-control wildfire continues to burn in southern British Columbia. The Dryden Creek fire, located just north of Squamish, is prompting authorities to warn residents to be prepared to leave at a moment's notice.
The fire, which is currently classified as out of control, has been burning since early June. Aerial crews have been deployed to combat the flames, but challenging terrain and weather conditions are hampering efforts.
Evacuation Alert Details
The evacuation alert covers properties in the vicinity of the Dryden Creek fire. Residents are advised to have a grab-and-go bag ready and to stay informed through local emergency channels. No mandatory evacuation order has been issued yet, but officials stress the situation could change rapidly.
