Whoopi Goldberg Loses Temper on The View During Vance Interview
Whoopi Goldberg Loses Temper on The View

A tense moment during Vice President JD Vance's interview on "The View" Tuesday was cut from the show's YouTube upload after co-host Whoopi Goldberg visibly lost her temper. The exchange left Vance looking awkward as Goldberg snapped at fellow co-host Ana Navarro.

The Outburst

Goldberg went off on Navarro after she attempted to squeeze in one last question for Vance while Goldberg was trying to break for commercials. "I gotta, I have to," Goldberg muttered as Navarro spoke over her, waving her hands in frustration. "I have to go to break!" Goldberg yelled, clapping her hands. "Ana, God, please!" she snapped. Both Navarro and Vance fell silent, staring at Goldberg in shock.

After the sign-off and during the transition to commercials, Goldberg could be seen looking at Navarro and angrily saying: "Don't do that!"

Heated Discussion Preceded the Incident

Before the outburst, the panel was engaged in a heated discussion about the Trump administration's efforts to erase Black American history. Goldberg and co-host Sunny Hostin cited examples like the "whitewashing" of slavery exhibitions at the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and the dismantling of the Voting Rights Act.

Goldberg's frustration had been building throughout the 40-minute interview with Vance, who appeared to promote his book "Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith." However, the panel, largely critical of President Donald Trump, focused on his second-term actions rather than Vance's book. The women frequently talked over one another and peppered Vance with follow-up questions as he evaded confrontation, causing time issues.

Earlier Signs of Tension

The first sign of trouble came early, before the first commercial break, during a discussion about the Epstein files. A panicked Goldberg cut in: "Let me go to break, let me go to break," indicating signals from the crew. In the next segment, Goldberg cut off co-host Joy Behar when she tried to interject as Vance explained his shift from Trump critic to supporter, leaving Behar visibly annoyed. Minutes later, Goldberg sternly told Navarro to "hold on" to take an ad break.

The incident raises questions about accountability, with observers noting that Goldberg, unlike Vance during the interview, should take responsibility for her actions.
