Rush has postponed two concerts in Fort Worth, Texas, after lead vocalist Geddy Lee was diagnosed with laryngitis and bronchitis. The band announced the rescheduling on June 30, 2026, shifting the shows from June 30 and July 2 to July 11 and July 13, respectively.
Geddy Lee’s diagnosis forces delay
Guitarist Alex Lifeson shared the news in a video on the band’s Facebook page, explaining that Lee woke up on Tuesday morning unable to speak or sing. “He could barely speak, let alone sing,” Lifeson said, adding with a joke: “Not speaking’s not so bad anyways. When you’re with the guy all the time, he’s always talking.” The band later confirmed that doctors advised Lee to rest before returning to the stage.
Rush acknowledged the disappointment for fans, especially those who traveled to Texas. “Please know this decision was not made lightly,” the band stated. “After more than 50 years of touring, we’ve always believed that if we’re going to step on stage, we owe you the very best performance we can give — and right now, that simply isn’t possible.”
Rescheduled dates and ticket details
The June 30 show has been moved to July 11, while the July 2 concert now takes place on July 13. All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new dates. Fans unable to attend can request refunds from their original point of purchase. The band thanked supporters for their patience and understanding while Lee recovers.
This is the second rescheduling for the July 2 show, which was originally set for June 24 but postponed due to travel and border delays after the band’s Mexico City tour dates. “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding given this circumstance out of our control,” the band wrote at the time.
Fifty Something tour continues
Rush launched the North American leg of their Fifty Something tour on June 7 at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum. The tour includes four Toronto shows at Scotiabank Arena on August 7, 9, 11, and 13, followed by stops in Edmonton and Vancouver in December. The international leg begins in early 2027.
