Nicholas Galitzine, known for his role in 'Red, White & Royal Blue', is set to star as He-Man in Amazon MGM Studios' upcoming live-action adaptation of 'Masters of the Universe'. The actor underwent a rigorous physical transformation to embody the iconic character, spending months in the gym and adhering to a strict diet.

Galitzine's Journey to Becoming He-Man

In a recent video call from Los Angeles, Galitzine discussed the immense responsibility of playing such a beloved character. 'It's an incredible honour and responsibility,' he said. 'I remember reading the script for the first time and just falling in love with this character.' The film, directed by Travis Knight, follows Prince Adam as he returns to Eternia to reclaim his destiny as He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe.

Building the Body of a Hero

Galitzine admitted that the physical transformation was challenging. 'It's not fun and it's not quick,' he explained. 'Making this movie, I have never seen a better craft services and for the entire six-month shoot and I don't think I had a crumb of it.' Despite the difficulties, the actor felt rewarded when he first appeared on set in full costume. 'I remember seeing Travis for the first time as He-Man and we embraced and it was quite emotional,' he recalled. 'That really put in perspective all the hard work that I put in getting into shape.'

Cast and Plot Details

The film features a star-studded cast including Jared Leto as Skeletor, Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Man-at-Arms, and Kristen Wiig as Roboto. The story begins with Prince Adam being sent to Earth after Skeletor attacks Eternia. On Earth, Adam lives a subdued life until he discovers his magic sword and the iconic phrase, 'By the power of Grayskull, I have the power!' This leads him back to his home planet to battle evil.

Galitzine noted that playing He-Man is a 'role of a lifetime,' and he is excited for audiences to see the film, which hits theaters on June 5. The actor's dedication to the role, both physically and emotionally, promises a compelling portrayal of the beloved hero.
