1. Explore Wanuskewin Heritage Park

The Doukhobor Dugout House National Historic Site of Canada opens for the season with a day focused on traditional Doukhobor weddings. The event is an immersive journey into the cultural heritage of the Doukhobor people, their rich traditions, and their deep commitment to peace and love. After a reenactment of a traditional wedding, couples are invited to renew their own vows. The event is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the historic site near Blaine Lake. 3. Walk and Learn Along the River Valley

Meewasin Valley Authority hosts guided walking tours in the Meewasin Valley through the summer. Proceeds support conservation and education programs. Silent walks at Beaver Creek Conservation area are hosted various Saturdays at 9 a.m. through August. People can connect with nature on a silent, interpreter-led morning walk through the open Prairie vistas and forested creek valley. Or, they can discuss the ecology and history of Beaver Creek before embarking on the small-group walk, with time taken for reflection and journalling. A Beaver Creek Conservation Area tour runs Saturdays at 10 a.m. through August. Explore the natural wonders of the creek and learn about the plants and animals that populate the area. Choose Your Adventure: The DTN Tour starts at Remai Modern and takes participants along the river trails in the downtown area on Saturdays at 10 a.m. and Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. through September. Learn about the downtown river trails and how the riverbank has long been intertwined with the story of the city. The Beaver Tour starts in the weir parking lot on Mondays at 7 p.m. through August. This year’s Festival Fransaskois is Fête, a two-day immersive Francophone cultural festival celebrating community.
