Amid reports that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are tying the knot this week at Madison Square Garden, U.S. media have been fanning the flames with a leaked internal memo and sightings around the famed sports arena.
While the pop star and the NFL tight end have kept mum about their impending nuptials, New York Post’s Page Six reported seeing boxes of food, which included lobster and chicken, being delivered to the arena on Wednesday.
The tabloid also noted that boxes labelled “Garden Party” and artificial trees were seen being taken inside the massive 22,000-seat venue. Citing sources, TMZ reported Tuesday that a castle was being built inside MSG.
Internal Memo Leaked
Also on Wednesday, the New York Times obtained an internal New York Police Department memo, titled “Taylor Swift wedding at Madison Square Garden,” outlining initial plans for the two-day event.
The NYPD memo reportedly said that about 100 people have been invited to the rehearsal dinner at around 6 p.m. Thursday at the Infosys Theater, which is located inside MSG.
The memo also noted that about 1,000 guests are expected at the arena on Friday for a larger party with cocktails being served at about 4 p.m. and “a wedding and reception” beginning at around 5:30 p.m.
Which Celebrities Are Invited?
Among the rumoured celebrity guests are Swift’s friends Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne, Selena Gomez and Zoe Kravitz. According to Page Six, Swift’s mentors Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw are expected to perform.
The tabloid had previously reported that luxury wedding planner Mark Seed had been planning the event “for months,” noting that Madison Square Garden doesn’t have events planned from June 29 to July 6.
Just booking MSG would cost $1 million a night, according to a TMZ report, while two luxury wedding planners told CNN that a wedding at the venue would cost between $10 million to $20 million.
