Smokey Robinson Faces New Sexual Misconduct Allegations From Ex-Employees
Smokey Robinson faces new sexual misconduct allegations

Legendary R&B singer Smokey Robinson is confronting fresh legal challenges as two additional former employees have come forward with sexual misconduct allegations against the music icon. The new claims emerge just six months after four women initiated a $50-million sexual assault lawsuit against the 85-year-old Motown legend.

New Accusers Join Existing Lawsuit

On November 14, 2025, attorneys filed a motion in court seeking to amend the original complaint to include two new accusers identified only as John Doe 1 and Jane Doe 5. According to documents obtained by PEOPLE magazine, the motion aims to consolidate these new allegations with the existing case.

John Doe 1 previously worked as a car valet for Robinson and alleges disturbing encounters with the singer. The accuser claims Robinson groped himself in front of the valet and attempted to force the employee's hand onto his genitals during the incident.

Jane Doe 5, who served as Robinson's housekeeper, reports multiple instances where the singer allegedly tried to make her touch him while he showered. The Guardian first reported these specific allegations, which mirror patterns described by previous accusers.

Pattern of Alleged Behavior

The court motion emphasizes that the new allegations closely resemble both in substance and scope the claims made by the initial four accusers. Legal documents note the incidents occurred during the same time periods, at identical locations, and involved similar conduct by the same defendants.

All individuals involved in the lawsuit stated they resigned from their positions due to the alleged sexual assaults. They expressed fears about potential retaliation, public shaming, and concerns about how coming forward might affect their immigration status.

Legal Battle Intensifies

The motion to include the new accusers is scheduled for a hearing on January 6, 2026. This development significantly expands the legal challenges facing the "Being With You" crooner.

Robinson's legal representative, Christopher Frost, has vehemently denied all allegations. In a statement to PEOPLE magazine, Frost characterized the lawsuit as an organized avaricious campaign to extract money from an 85-year-old legend.

Frost further criticized the accusers, stating: This group of people, who hide behind anonymity, and their attorneys seek global publicity while making the ugliest of false allegations. Once the public can see the truth, their avaricious motives and fabricated claims will be revealed.

Countersuit and Ongoing Proceedings

In response to the initial lawsuit, Robinson took legal action against his four former employees, filing a defamation lawsuit just weeks after they launched their $50-million sexual assault case. The singer has consistently denied all allegations against him.

Robinson and his wife, Frances Gladney, have countersued the original accusers, asserting they made false claims against the music legend. This legal counteroffensive sets the stage for a complex courtroom battle as both sides prepare their arguments.

The case continues to develop as the January court date approaches, with the new allegations adding substantial weight to the existing lawsuit against the Motown icon.
