Simone Biles Opens Up About Hospitalization
Seven-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles revealed she was hospitalized following what she described as the 'scariest experience' of her life. In an Instagram Stories post shared on Saturday, the 29-year-old gymnast posted a picture of herself wearing hospital bracelets and opened up about the frightening ordeal.
'I'm not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today's age. But almost dying wasn't on my bingo card earlier this week,' Biles wrote.
While Biles stopped short of revealing the exact cause of the medical emergency, she emphasized it was the 'scariest experience' she has ever faced. She noted that the incident occurred while her husband, Indianapolis Colts player Jonathan Owens, was in Indianapolis for practices.
Biles, who is now recovering, thanked her friends and loved ones for their support. 'S/O to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited, or sent flowers. Loooovveeee y'all,' she added.
Alongside her message, Biles shared pictures of several floral arrangements she received. She also posted a photo of herself resting in bed with her two French bulldogs, Lilo and Rambo. In the post, she included an image showing an elevated heart rate of 126 beats per minute and wrote, 'I'll be here.'
The gymnast's health scare has drawn attention from fans and media, highlighting the importance of health and well-being even for elite athletes.
