Kidman Honors Urban on Father's Day

Nicole Kidman shared a Father's Day tribute to her ex-husband Keith Urban on Sunday, just months after the couple finalized their divorce in January 2026. The post included a photo of Urban giving a piggyback ride to their two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, alongside a picture of Kidman with her late father, Antony Kidman.

"Happy Father's Day to all the fathers," Kidman captioned the images on Instagram. The gesture comes after Urban wished Kidman a happy birthday on social media earlier in the week, writing in a now-expired Instagram Story, "Happy birthday Nicole Mary!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Divorce After Nearly 20 Years of Marriage

The former couple, who married in 2006, announced their separation in September 2025 and finalized their divorce in January 2026. According to TMZ, the pair had been living apart "since the beginning of (last) summer." Insiders told the outlet that Urban, 58, initiated the split and that Kidman "did not want the separation and (had) been trying to save the marriage."

"Keith has acquired his own residence in Nashville and has moved out of their family home," one source said. Friends also claimed that Urban had moved on with another woman. A confidante told PEOPLE that Kidman "didn't want this" and had been "fighting to save the marriage."

Kidman Reflects on Life and Change

In interviews following the breakup, Kidman hinted at underlying issues in the marriage. Speaking to Vogue, she was asked how she deals with negativity and replied: "Literally walk away from it … it will destroy you." She also reflected on the unpredictability of life in her 50s, saying, "How many times do you have to be taught that you think you know where your life is going and then it isn't going in that direction?"

In a separate interview with Harper's Bazaar, Kidman spoke about what keeps her "feeling vibrant and energized": "Life. Connection. People. Sharing ideas. And just actually being alive, I'm grateful to have that. I'm grateful to be a part of this world. I'm grateful to be surviving as a woman, as an actress, and as a producer, professionally and personally. Also, my children (give me the) purpose of being their protector and their guide, promising them that I'm here and that, no matter what, there's always a safe place to grow up in."

Kidman also told Variety in March 2026, "I'm staying in a place of, 'We are a family,' and that's what we'll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women." She has multiple projects on the horizon, including the upcoming Practical Magic 2.
