Ethan Jamieson, the actor who portrayed the boy tribute from District 4 in the first installment of The Hunger Games film series, has been arrested on serious felony charges. The 27-year-old is accused of assaulting three men with a handgun in an incident that occurred last month in North Carolina.
Details of the Alleged Assault
According to the Raleigh Police Department, officers responded to a report of shots fired on the evening of March 22. The alleged victim reported that an unknown suspect riding an e-bike had fired a single gunshot at their vehicle while they were driving. During the investigation, detectives identified Jamieson as the individual responsible for discharging the firearm in the direction of the victims' vehicle.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
Jamieson was arrested on April 8 and faces three felony counts of assault. The charges are connected to his alleged use of a 9mm semi-automatic handgun to assault three men, identified in court documents as E.F., J.M., and K.W. He was denied bail on April 9, and his disposition hearing is scheduled for April 30.
Previous Legal Troubles
This arrest marks Jamieson's second run-in with the law in as many years. Just days before the alleged assault, on March 21, he was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, according to separate court documents. He was sentenced for that offense on March 26, only four days after the recent incident.
Background and Career
Jamieson gained recognition for his role in The Hunger Games, which starred Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, and Woody Harrelson, and is based on Suzanne Collins' best-selling novels. He has also appeared in episodes of television series such as Justified and One Tree Hill.
The case continues to develop as legal proceedings advance, with authorities emphasizing the seriousness of the charges against the actor.
