A recent family Christmas photo shared by former U.S. President Joe Biden has become an unexpected source of political commentary, with a Fox News analyst suggesting its composition was no accident.
Fox News Contributor's Theory
On Friday, Fox News contributor Joe Concha presented his analysis of the holiday image during an appearance on "Jesse Watters Primetime," which was guest-hosted by Charles Hurt. Concha argued that such photos involving a former president are meticulously planned. "Any picture like that, you know, there are no accidents, especially from a former president," Concha stated. "These things are choreographed, you think, pretty well."
The photo in question was posted to Biden's social media accounts on Christmas Eve. It depicts the Biden family standing before a Christmas tree. The image attracted mockery, particularly from conservative circles, because former First Lady Jill Biden's head partially obscures her husband's face. In contrast, the couple's son, Hunter Biden, is positioned more prominently in the frame.
Mixed Interpretations and Reactions
Guest host Charles Hurt admitted he had "studied" the photo but was conflicted on its meaning. "I'm sort of torn between thinking it was just a screw-up or something like that," Hurt said. "And then also thinking maybe it really is an effort by even the family to try to make him, like, Joe Biden, disappear."
Concha expanded on his critique, suggesting the arrangement made it appear "as if Hunter Biden is running the family." He described Joe Biden as looking more "like an uncle who tried to sneak in at the last second who kind of really isn't related to everybody." Concha ultimately labeled the portrait as "disrespectful to a former president and father and grandfather."
Social Media Divided
The family portrait also garnered significant supportive feedback. Many of Biden's supporters on social media left holiday well-wishes and positive comments. Some users pointedly contrasted the photo's caption—"Wishing you a peaceful and joyful Christmas Eve filled with love"—with a Christmas Day post by former President Donald Trump on Truth Social. In that post, Trump targeted "the many Sleazebags who loved Jeffrey Epstein."
The episode highlights how even seemingly apolitical family moments can quickly become fodder for analysis and partisan debate in the current media landscape.
