Drake Takes Aim at LeBron James in Leaked 'Iceman' Song

Drake may be settling old scores on his upcoming Iceman LP, with a rumored track taking a shot at former friend and NBA superstar LeBron James. The two fell out after James appeared to side with Kendrick Lamar during the 2024 rap battle between Drake and Lamar.

In a leaked song titled 1 A.M. in Albany, believed to be from the new album, Drake raps: “I shouldn’t even be shocked to see you in that arena, because you always made your career off of switching teams up. Please stop asking what’s going on with 23 & me, I’m a real n*****, and he’s not, it’s in my DNA.” The track also takes aim at Lamar, referencing his height with a line about Muggsy Bogues.

While the authenticity of the leak is unconfirmed due to AI advancements, the lyrics closely resemble Drake’s style. The beef traces back to James attending Lamar’s “The Pop Out” concert in 2024, where he was seen dancing to Not Like Us, a diss track targeting Drake. Following that, Drake unfollowed James on social media.

Drake hinted at the rift during a Toronto event in October 2024, warning fans about fake friends. James downplayed the dispute in a September 2024 interview, saying, “Always wish him the best. Obviously we’re in different places right now.”

The Drake-Lamar feud escalated in 2024 with diss tracks, including Lamar’s Not Like Us, which accused Drake of inappropriate behavior with minors. Drake’s new album Iceman is expected to be livestreamed from Toronto’s CN Tower on Thursday night.
