Comedian Desi Lydic made a surprising revelation Thursday on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, telling host Jimmy Kimmel that she once appeared in a movie with his long-time comedic nemesis, Matt Damon.
When Kimmel asked if she had been in any major films as an aspiring actor, Lydic replied, "Well, I hate to break it to you, Jimmy, I was in a movie with your nemesis." She paused, and as Kimmel blurted out "Trump?", Lydic said, "I was in 'We Bought A Zoo.'"
The 2011 film starred Matt Damon, with whom Kimmel has maintained a playful feud for years, exchanging insults and pranks. However, Kimmel noted that Damon never tried to get him fired, unlike former President Donald Trump, who has called for Kimmel to be taken off the air.
Kimmel, referring to Trump as "our nemesis" with political satirist Lydic, easily slipped back into his comic feud with Damon. "Is that why you decided to stop acting?" he asked Lydic about her experience with the Good Will Hunting star. "... I'm so sorry he did that to you."
The exchange came amid ongoing tensions between Kimmel and Trump, after the former president and first lady Melania Trump called for Kimmel to be fired for jokingly referring to her as an "expectant widow" days before an alleged assassination attempt on Trump. Kimmel defended the joke as a light jab about the couple's age difference, but right-wing outrage ensued, fueling debates over free speech.
While flying under the radar compared to Kimmel, Lydic has also delivered her share of sharp remarks about Trump. For those curious, a scene from We Bought A Zoo shows Damon's widower character interacting with Lydic's lasagna-bearing single mom.
