Crispin Glover Files Countersuit Against Ex-Girlfriend

Actor Crispin Glover, best known for his role in Back to the Future, has taken legal action against his former girlfriend, who previously accused him of keeping her as a sex slave. Glover filed a cross-complaint with the Los Angeles County Superior Court on June 3, denying the allegations and making his own claims against the woman, identified only as Jane Doe.

Glover's Allegations

In his legal filing, Glover characterizes Doe's behavior as "willful, fraudulent, oppressive, and malicious" and accuses her of assault, battery, intrusion into private affairs, and unlawful trespass. The 62-year-old actor provided evidence, including text messages, photographs—one showing a bloody cut on his face—and a copy of a restraining order he obtained against Doe on March 4.

According to documents obtained by Entertainment Weekly, Glover claims that Doe first contacted him online in 2015, and they had a "brief romantic relationship" in 2023. He describes the relationship as purely transactional, alleging that Doe saw him as someone with financial means who could support her lifestyle.

Glover further states that Doe stayed with him for three nights in Europe and 16 nights in the United States, but things escalated when she "asked me to deceive others by saying that we were married in an Islamic ceremony." When he refused, she allegedly began acting erratically and returned to his home with an unknown man, who, along with Doe, "verbally and physically attacked me."

Details of Doe's February Lawsuit

In her February 25 lawsuit, Jane Doe accused Glover of battery, fraud, malicious prosecution, wrongful eviction, infliction of emotional distress, and violations of California's Bane Act. She alleged that Glover "coerced her into living with him," tracked her movements, assaulted her—leaving a visible wound and scar on her neck—and forced her to "serve him as a live in girlfriend/sex slave."

Doe claimed that Glover lured her to Los Angeles with promises of a home and job but later evicted her, leaving her homeless. Glover's lawsuit counters that these allegations are "patently and provably false" and characterize her lawsuit as a "shakedown." He alleges that Doe fabricated the accusations in retaliation for his refusal to participate in a sham marriage and to extract money from him.

Glover also claims that Doe's lawyer sent him an email in September 2024 demanding an unspecified amount of money to prevent legal action. He is demanding a jury trial and seeking damages.

Legal Proceedings Continue

The case remains ongoing, with both parties presenting their versions of events. Glover's cross-complaint seeks to strike the malicious prosecution cause of action from Doe's complaint, citing the evidence he has provided. The actor maintains his innocence and vows to fight the allegations in court.
