Codi was born three months premature at just 25 weeks gestation last February, requiring extensive care in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). After spending nearly her entire life in hospital care, she had been home for only 20 days when she passed away. The parents have not disclosed the specific cause of their daughter's death.
Just weeks before the tragedy, on January 6, Broadus had shared joyful footage of their daughter finally leaving the hospital. "She's home," the 26-year-old captioned her Instagram post at the time. "Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all."
