Chris Noth Speaks Out on Broken Bond with Former Co-Star
In a candid new interview, actor Chris Noth has publicly addressed the dissolution of his long-standing friendship with former Sex and the City co-star Sarah Jessica Parker. The revelation comes years after Noth faced multiple sexual assault allegations in December 2021, which he has consistently denied.
The Allegations and Immediate Fallout
Noth, best known for his role as Mr. Big opposite Parker's Carrie Bradshaw, saw his career impacted significantly following the accusations. His character was written out of the Sex and the City sequel series And Just Like That, he was dropped by his management team, and removed from CBS's reboot of The Equalizer.
"We're not friends, I think that's pretty obvious," Noth stated bluntly during an appearance on the Really Famous With Kara Mayer Robinson podcast, in a clip later published by PEOPLE magazine.
Co-Stars' Statement Deemed "Disappointing"
Noth expressed particular disappointment with the joint statement released by Parker and her co-stars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, which expressed support for the women who came forward. "The statement that they put out — which was nothing more than brand management, really — I don't know, it was sad, it was disappointing, it was surprising," Noth remarked.
He emphasized that he believed his colleagues should have contacted him personally before making any public declarations. "Because you need to call me and hear my side of this. You've known me for many years, and we've worked together for many years," he added.
Noth's Defense and Ongoing Denials
Throughout the controversy, Noth has maintained his innocence. In a 2022 interview with USA Today, he acknowledged marital infidelity but stressed the encounters were consensual. "The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false," he stated previously. "These stories could've been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross."
In his recent podcast appearance, Noth reflected on the personal lessons learned from the experience. "What's gained is good," he noted. "You know where people stand and you know who your real friends are and who they're not. That's important to know."
Social Media Tensions Surface
The strained relationship between Noth and Parker gained additional attention earlier this month when Noth appeared to endorse an Instagram comment criticizing Parker. He later clarified his response as "off-the-cuff, slightly sarcastic" and not intended to fuel public discourse.
Despite the professional and personal setbacks, Noth has indicated he plans to continue his acting career. "I'm an actor. I have other things that I want to do creatively," he told USA Today, while acknowledging the personal toll on his marriage.
The interview provides rare insight into the behind-the-scenes dynamics of one of television's most iconic casts, revealing how allegations and public statements can irrevocably alter personal relationships in the entertainment industry.
