Statement from CSHF Executive Director

Nick Fedor, Executive Director of the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, said: 'The Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame exists to honour the songwriters whose work has shaped our culture and defined how Canadian music is heard at home and around the world. This year's inductees represent that standard at the highest level. These are writers whose songs have endured, travelled, and become part of the country's shared experience. They did not follow a template; they defined one. Their induction recognizes a body of work that continues to resonate across generations and audiences.'

Legacy and Recognition

The legacies of the 2026 inductees will be enshrined at Studio Bell, home of Calgary's National Music Centre, where artifacts and memorabilia tell the story of the songwriters who helped shape Canada's sound. The Tragically Hip, known for hits like 'New Orleans Is Sinking' and 'Ahead by a Century,' have long been celebrated as one of Canada's most iconic bands. Feist, with her acclaimed albums such as 'The Reminder' and 'Metals,' has garnered international recognition. Mike Reno and Paul Dean of Loverboy contributed classics like 'Working for the Weekend' and 'Turn Me Loose.' Roch Voisine, a bilingual star, has enjoyed success in both French and English markets. The induction ceremony promises to be a memorable celebration of Canadian music heritage.
