Bell Media has announced a major expansion of its reality television lineup, securing both future seasons of BIG BROTHER USA and a new season of BIG BROTHER CANADA for Crave and CTV. The deal, negotiated with Banijay Rights, the global distribution arm of Banijay Entertainment, will bring the iconic reality franchise to Canadian audiences starting in 2027.
Production Details
BIG BROTHER CANADA is set to begin production in Spring 2027 in Montreal, produced by Entourage, the team behind the French-language BIG BROTHER CÉLÉBRITÉS. The new season will be hosted by Andrea Bain, co-host of CTV's THE SOCIAL. Casting details will be announced at a later date.
US Series Acquisition
Beginning Summer 2027, BIG BROTHER USA will air on CTV and stream on Crave, marking the first time the US version will be available on Bell Media platforms. This acquisition strengthens Bell Media's position as a leading destination for reality television in Canada.
Strategic Partnerships
Justin Stockman, VP of Global Content at Bell Media, expressed enthusiasm about the deal: "BIG BROTHER is one of the most iconic and beloved formats worldwide. We are thrilled to have it take up residency at Bell Media and to deliver Canadian audiences more of the eventful and unforgettable competitive social gameplay they love."
Jane Rimer, SVP Canada at Banijay Rights, added: "Big Brother is a global phenomenon that continues to embed deep roots with local audiences. Continuing our long-standing partnership with Bell Media, we're thrilled to bring back this renowned superbrand to Canada."
Back Catalogue and French-Language Success
With the order of BIG BROTHER CANADA, Bell Media also acquires the Canadian series' back catalogue, with 12 seasons available to stream on Crave. The French-language BIG BROTHER CÉLÉBRITÉS has been a fan favorite since its debut in 2021, with Season 6 becoming the #1 original reality series of Winter 2026 and the most-streamed show in French on Crave, amassing nearly 4.7 million views across platforms.
Global Phenomenon
First airing in the Netherlands in 1999, BIG BROTHER has become one of the world's most iconic reality franchises, with over 600 series in 70 markets. The format continues to succeed globally, with prime-time success in the UK, Australia, Germany, and Brazil, long-running versions in the US and Italy, and adaptations in India and Malta. As a Banijay Entertainment format, it remains one of the company's top three properties, airing in 27 territories last year.
Customized brand partnership opportunities on all Bell Media platforms are now available for BIG BROTHER CANADA.
