Some of Montreal's Bixi bikes are receiving a vibrant summer makeover as local artists paint them for the 'Art in Motion' project. The initiative aims to turn the city's bike-sharing fleet into moving canvases, celebrating creativity and urban mobility.
Art Meets Transportation
The project features a variety of artistic styles, from abstract patterns to nature-inspired motifs, each bike becoming a unique piece of public art. Riders can enjoy the aesthetic upgrade while commuting or exploring the city.
Community Engagement
Local artists were selected through a competitive process to design and paint the bikes. The initiative not only beautifies the streets but also supports the local art scene, providing exposure for emerging talents.
Bixi officials hope the project will encourage more people to use the bike-sharing service and appreciate public art. The painted bikes will be available throughout the summer, adding a splash of color to Montreal's streets.
