Overnight Crash on Highway 400 Kills One in Carling

A single-vehicle crash on Highway 400 in Carling Township early Saturday morning has resulted in one fatality. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the scene around 2 a.m. near the Highway 400 and Highway 518 intersection.

According to police, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, the sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The OPP's Technical Collision Investigation team is assisting with the investigation. The cause of the crash is under investigation, but police have not ruled out speed or impairment as factors.
