Saskatoon's Circle Drive was shut down overnight following a collision involving a semi-trailer truck and a power pole. The incident occurred late Tuesday evening, prompting authorities to close the roadway in both directions for several hours while emergency crews responded.
According to police, the semi struck a power pole near the intersection of Circle Drive and Attridge Drive, causing the pole to snap and bringing down power lines across the road. No injuries were reported, but the collision disrupted traffic and left some nearby residents without electricity.
Saskatoon Light and Power crews were dispatched to the scene to repair the damaged infrastructure. The road reopened early Wednesday morning after the pole was replaced and the area deemed safe.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes during the closure. The cause of the crash is under investigation, and no charges have been filed at this time.
