A serious multi-vehicle crash on Highway 401 eastbound in Pickering has left one person dead and several others injured, according to Ontario Provincial Police.

Crash Details

The collision occurred early Saturday morning, closing all eastbound lanes between Brock Road and Whites Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene, where multiple vehicles were involved. OPP reported that one person was pronounced dead at the scene, while several others were transported to hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to critical.

Investigation Underway

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Police are asking witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact the OPP. The highway remained closed for several hours as investigators worked to reconstruct the scene.
