Kitchener Man Charged in Guelph Hit and Run
A 34-year-old man from Kitchener has been charged with impaired driving and failing to remain at the scene of a collision in Guelph. The incident took place on the morning of June 12, 2026, at approximately 2:30 a.m.
According to Guelph Police Service, officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash in the area of Edinburgh Road and Stone Road West. Upon arrival, they found a damaged vehicle but no driver. Further investigation led to the identification of the suspect, who was located a short distance away.
The accused was taken into custody and later released on a promise to appear in court at a later date. He faces charges including impaired operation of a motor vehicle, operation while exceeding 80 mg of alcohol per 100 mL of blood, and failure to stop after an accident.
No injuries were reported in the collision. Police are reminding the public that impaired driving remains a serious offense with potentially devastating consequences.
