Toronto's SkyTower Hits 100 Floors, Set to Become Canada's Tallest Building
Toronto's 106-storey SkyTower nears completion

Toronto's skyline is on the verge of a historic transformation as the monumental SkyTower condominium project approaches its final height. Developed by Pinnacle International at the prime address of One Yonge Street, the structure has recently celebrated a critical construction milestone, reaching the 100-storey mark on its way to a final count of 106 floors.

A New Height for Canadian Architecture

Once completed, SkyTower will officially claim the title of Canada's tallest building, standing at a formidable 351.85 meters. To grasp its scale, Pinnacle notes that the highest residential floor will be in line with the main observation level of the iconic CN Tower. This achievement places the project in the elite "supertall" category of global structures.

Anson Kwok, Pinnacle’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, confirmed that construction has progressed smoothly. "We have a strong in-house construction team and the best outside consultants," Kwok stated, acknowledging the complexity of building a structure of this magnitude. "It’s not every day that we build a 100+-storey building so we needed the best of the best."

Luxury Living in the Clouds

The tower will house 958 residential units starting from the 12th floor upwards. The first 11 floors will be occupied by the Le Meridien Toronto Pinnacle Hotel, creating a true mixed-use community. Pricing reflects the exclusive nature of the address, with units ranging from approximately $1 million to $10 million on the higher levels. The crown jewel will be a full-floor penthouse listed for around $30 million.

Designed by the acclaimed Hariri Pontarini Architects, SkyTower is billed as a "vertical community." It promises luxe finishes, high-quality materials, and a suite of world-class amenities. Future residents will have access to an outdoor swimming pool, hot tub, lounge and BBQ areas, a yoga room, children's play areas, and a private dining room. A signature restaurant is planned for the spectacular 106th floor.

Design and Construction Details

In a unique design choice, balconies will only be available from the 88th floor down. Kwok explained this decision in a 2020 interview, citing the building's extreme height and proximity to Lake Ontario. "We don’t think it will be a comfortable place for someone to hang out on their balcony anyway," he said, assuring that breathtaking views are guaranteed from anywhere in the building.

The building will be serviced by 10 elevators. Despite the engineering challenges posed by its height and lakeside location, Kwok expressed confidence, noting the company worked closely with consultants to address all structural complexities from the outset.

With the 100-storey hurdle cleared, the focus shifts to the final push. The first residents could begin settling into their sky-high homes in late 2026 or early 2027, marking a new era for urban living in Toronto and setting a fresh benchmark for Canadian skyscrapers.
