"We also have numerous services and amenities readily available." Municipal Councillor Cathy Curry of Ward 4, Kanata North, strongly supports this assessment. "We consistently hear from residents in this demographic that they value Kanata North's strong community feel, diverse cultural atmosphere, and convenient access to shopping, dining, and entertainment," she states. "Additionally, the area offers family-friendly environments, readily available healthcare services, safe neighborhoods, and beautiful green spaces."

Curry highlights a significant trend: as the 55-plus demographic expands, demand for age-friendly retirement residences and accessible homes in suburban markets has increased substantially. "Many older adults are choosing to downsize from traditional single-family homes into condos, townhomes, or retirement apartments, particularly where proximity to amenities and healthcare is strong," she notes. This shift underscores the timely introduction of Lib Kanata, which aims to offer "a new way of living beyond the traditional seniors' residence model."

The Lib Kanata complex will feature 236 rental units spread across nine floors, with layouts ranging from one to three bedrooms. Each apartment is designed to be spacious and bright, equipped with five appliances to enhance comfort and convenience.
