Open-to-Below Design and $500+ Energy Savings Win Over Edmonton Homebuyers
Jayman Built's Renew 20 Saves Homeowners Over $500 Annually

For Paola Pinzon and her husband Juan Estrada, life in Edmonton has truly blossomed since moving into their new house in the Rosemont community, a home that masterfully blends architectural beauty with impressive energy savings.

A Journey from Colombia to Edmonton

The couple's path to homeownership began six years ago with a month-long visit to family in Edmonton. The positive experience convinced them to leave their life in Colombia and permanently relocate to the city three years ago, a decision also driven by a desire to be closer to relatives. They initially rented a home in the Secord neighbourhood, but their search for a single-family home—a first for them after always living in condos in Colombia—led them to the newer community of Rosemont.

Their online research pointed them to builder Jayman Built, a name familiar to them as a show home was located across the street from their rental. "(Jayman) looks like a nice builder. We need to see what they have," Pinzon recalled thinking at the time.

The Allure of the Renew 20 Model

Early in 2024, the couple visited a Jayman show home in Rosemont and were introduced to the Renew 20 model. This 1,428-square-foot home, featuring three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, immediately captured their attention with its unique open-to-below feature.

"One of the most unique and eye-catching features of the Renew is the open-to-below view into the basement; this is a rare design element that instantly adds a sense of spaciousness, natural light and architectural flair," explained Armina Seetram, Jayman’s area sales manager in Rosemont.

Pinzon and Estrada were captivated by the flood of natural light this feature brings to both the main floor and the finished basement. They also praised the large windows at the front and back of the house for further enhancing the bright, airy atmosphere.

Smart Savings and Smart Technology

Beyond the stunning design, the couple was equally drawn to the home's advanced technology and its significant energy efficiency. According to calculations by Jayman Built, the energy efficient standards built into their homes save homeowners more than $500 a year on utility costs.

This combination of smart home features, proven annual savings, and a light-filled living environment sealed the deal for Pinzon and Estrada, making their first single-family home a perfect fit for their new life in Canada.
