The Edmonton Convention Center hosted a capacity crowd of over 1,400 industry professionals on March 14, 2026, for the BILD Edmonton Metro Awards of Excellence in Housing. This marked the largest attendance ever recorded for the annual event, which honors outstanding achievements in residential construction and development throughout the region.
StreetSide Developments Achieves Remarkable Three-Peat Victory
In a display of consistent excellence, StreetSide Developments emerged as the evening's top winner, securing an impressive nine awards total. The company achieved a significant milestone by claiming the Builder of the Year - Multi-Family title for the third consecutive year, establishing a remarkable pattern of industry dominance.
StreetSide's award haul included:
- Builder of the Year - Multi-Family
- Recognition for Most Home Sales
- Three multi-family awards in the townhouse/duplex category across different price ranges
- Four additional sales awards
As part of the Qualico group, StreetSide demonstrated particular strength in the multi-family sector, winning three of the six available awards in that category. Their continued success highlights their sustained commitment to quality construction and market leadership.
Rohit Group Claims Major Honors with Eight Awards
While StreetSide led in total awards, Rohit Group followed closely with eight recognitions, including two of the evening's most prestigious honors. The company was named both Developer of the Year and Builder of the Year - Large Volume, showcasing their comprehensive excellence across different aspects of the building industry.

Community Development Awards Highlight Neighborhood Excellence
The awards also recognized outstanding community development projects. Cantiro's Alces community in southeast Edmonton was named Edmonton's Best New Community, competing against entries from Avillia Developments, Rohit Group, and Anthem Properties. The name Alces, derived from Latin for moose, symbolizes strength, pride, and elegance.
For Best Community in the region, Strata Development Corp.'s Ardrossan development near Sherwood Park claimed victory over competitors including Rohit's Cambrian and three Edmonton entries from Brookfield Residential.
Broad Recognition Across the Industry
While StreetSide and Rohit collected the most awards, approximately forty different builders, developers, and general members received at least one trophy during the 2026 ceremony. This widespread recognition demonstrates the depth of talent within Edmonton's building industry.
