The City of Calgary has begun mailing approximately 600,000 property tax bills to residential and non-residential property owners. The bills are expected to arrive in mailboxes over the coming days, with payment due by June 30, 2026.
Payment Options and Deadlines
Property owners can pay their taxes online, by mail, or in person at designated locations. Late payments will be subject to a 7% penalty on the outstanding balance as of July 1, with an additional 1% penalty applied each month thereafter. The city encourages early payment to avoid penalties.
How to Pay
- Online through the city's website using a credit card or electronic funds transfer.
- By mail with a cheque or money order, postmarked no later than June 30.
- In person at City Hall or any authorized payment centre.
Tax Assistance Programs
Low-income seniors, persons with disabilities, and other qualifying residents may be eligible for the city's property tax assistance program, which offers deferrals or monthly payment plans. Applications must be submitted before the due date.
For more information, property owners can visit the City of Calgary's website or contact 311. The city reminds residents that failure to pay by the deadline may result in additional fees and collection actions.
