Canadian mineral exploration company QGold Resources Ltd. has taken a significant step toward developing its primary asset, announcing the engagement of a leading environmental consultancy to spearhead the permitting process.
Strategic Partnership for Permitting Milestone
QGold Resources Ltd. (TSXV: QGR; OTCQB: QGLDF; Börse Frankfurt: QX9G) has formally partnered with SLR Consulting (SLR), a prominent firm based in Portland, Oregon. The firm's mandate is to advance environmental baseline studies and develop permitting strategies for the Quartz Mountain Gold Project, located in southern Oregon, USA. This engagement, announced on December 2, 2025, represents a pivotal move in transitioning the project from exploration to development.
SLR brings to the table extensive North American mine permitting experience, with specialized knowledge of Oregon's specific regulatory landscape. The consultancy's deep familiarity with both state and federal processes, coupled with its established relationships with local regulatory bodies, is expected to streamline the environmental review and permitting pathway for QGold.
Unlocking a Significant Gold Asset
The Quartz Mountain Gold Project, which QGold acquired from Alamos Gold Inc. in October 2025, is a promising development-stage asset. The decision to initiate the formal permitting phase follows the recent commencement of a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) and the publication of a robust Mineral Resource Estimate.
The technical report, effective September 26, 2025 and filed on SEDAR+, outlines a substantial resource. The Indicated Mineral Resource is estimated at 1,543,000 ounces of gold and 2,049,000 ounces of silver, contained within approximately 50 million tonnes. An additional Inferred Mineral Resource contains 148,000 ounces of gold and 135,000 ounces of silver. The deposit is considered amenable to conventional open-pit mining methods.
Pathway to Responsible Development
SLR's scope of work will be comprehensive, encompassing environmental baseline data collection, detailed permitting strategy development, stakeholder engagement planning, and direct coordination with key agencies. These include the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries (DOGAMI) and the U.S. Forest Service.
"We are excited to partner with SLR Consulting as we advance Quartz Mountain toward development," stated Peter Tagliamonte, President and CEO of QGold. "SLR’s proven track record in Oregon mine permitting and its local Portland presence provides invaluable expertise as we work to responsibly develop this significant gold asset."
This strategic partnership underscores QGold's commitment to systematically advancing its flagship project through a critical phase, leveraging local expertise to navigate the complex regulatory environment required for future development.
