Vancouver-based Precore Gold Corp. (CSE: PRCG) has officially commenced a significant brownfield exploration program at its flagship Arikepay Project. The announcement, made on December 2, 2025, follows a recent and productive site visit by the company's geological team to the property located in the prolific mining region of Arequipa, Southern Peru.
Unlocking Value Through Historical Data
The launch of this program is the result of meticulous preparatory work. The company's senior geologists have finalized their initial plans after reviewing extensive historical drill results data and advancing technical, environmental, and community-related field activities. A key success of the recent site visit was the location and recovery of critical material from past exploration campaigns.
The team successfully recovered diamond drill hole core from a 2017 program conducted by Compania Minera Zahena. Additionally, they retrieved chip trays containing reverse circulation cuttings from a 2012 campaign completed by Cobriza Metals Peru. These past programs had yielded highly encouraging results, making the recovery of this material vital for future study. Notably, the team secured core from the high-grade hole labeled AK-DDH-02-17, which has been photographed and sampled for detailed analysis.
A Clear and Methodical Path Forward
Precore Gold has outlined a clear, multi-phase strategy to unlock the property's value and support the permitting process for future drilling. This structured approach is designed to systematically address all prerequisites for a successful exploration campaign.
The first phase focuses on advancing environmental and community work. Given the project's location in a well-established mining district, social acceptance and environmental stewardship are paramount. The Arikepay Project, situated at an accessible 1,200 meters above sea level in a flat, arid environment, already holds historical environmental approvals for drilling—a positive indicator for current permitting efforts. The company has begun filing for water use permits and is defining a rigorous community outreach program slated to start in December 2025.
Concurrently, the company will update the existing Certificate of Non-Existence of Archaeological Remains (CIRA) to reflect new project parameters as drill pad locations are finalized. Logistical preparations include refreshing the access road to the site, primarily by removing wind-drifted sand, to ensure ease of access for teams and contractors. This work is not expected to be lengthy or costly due to the road's currently favourable condition.
Technical Work to Define Drill Targets
The final preparatory stage involves initiating pre-drilling exploration work. This includes conducting high-resolution downhole imaging to gather data on interior surfaces and define the basic geometry of gold mineralization. Furthermore, the company plans to execute a geophysical survey, such as induced polarization, to better understand concentrations of sulfide minerals associated with the gold. This technical data will be instrumental in defining priority drill hole targets for Precore Gold's maiden drill program on the property.
This methodical launch positions Precore Gold to efficiently evaluate the Arikepay Project's potential, leveraging historical success while laying a responsible and technically sound foundation for its future exploration activities in Southern Peru.
