Midland's 2026 Gold and Copper Exploration Plans in Quebec

Midland Exploration Reveals Comprehensive 2026 Exploration Strategy for Quebec Mineral Projects

MONTREAL, Feb. 12, 2026 – Midland Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: MD) has announced a detailed overview of its planned 2026 exploration activities targeting gold and copper-gold deposits across Quebec. The company will focus on advancing multiple projects in partnership with industry leaders, with particular emphasis on the Abitibi belt, Eeyou Istchee James Bay region, and Labrador Trough areas.

Substantial Budget and Partnership-Driven Approach

Building on its successful "Project Generator" business model, Midland has secured an exploration budget exceeding $12.0 million for 2026, with $9.5 million coming from Midland and $2.5 million from partners. The company plans to conduct nearly 15,000 metres of drilling across its portfolio of properties.

"Our 2025 activities resulted in the acquisition of several high-quality properties and the formation of new strategic partnerships across Quebec," the company stated. "This positions us strongly for an active 2026 exploration season."

Midland's partnership network includes major industry players such as BHP Canada Inc., Rio Tinto Exploration Canada Inc., Barrick Gold Corporation, Agnico Eagle Mines Limited, SOQUEM Inc., Probe Gold Inc., and Wallbridge Mining Company Ltd.

Key Exploration Highlights for 2026

  • A diamond drilling program for gold is currently active on the Jouvex project
  • A diamond drilling program for gold is planned in partnership with Wallbridge on the Casault project
  • An airborne geophysical magnetic and gravity survey has been completed in partnership with Probe on the Gaudet-Fenelon project
  • An exploration program to follow up on 2025 gold showings is planned on the Caniapisc Au project
  • Exploration programs to investigate refined copper-gold-zinc lake bottom anomalies are scheduled for the Lac Bernard and Viau projects
  • Exploration and diamond drilling for gold is planned on the Willbob project
  • An exploration program to follow up on copper-gold-rare earth element mineralization is planned in partnership with SOQUEM on the Malaco Mountain project

Detailed Focus on Abitibi Gold and Copper Projects

Jouvex Project – 100% Midland

The Jouvex project, located approximately 10 kilometres northwest of the Douay gold deposit, has undergone significant geological reinterpretation. Midland's internal compilation of historical drilling data revealed a band of felsic tuffs and volcanic rocks between Taïbi sediments and Cartwright mafic volcanic rocks. These geological units, identified in multiple historical drill holes, suggest potential for volcanic massive sulfide-type mineralization.

Recent drone-supported magnetic surveys conducted by Midland indicate that the main magnetic fabric is truncated in the southern portion of the project. This interference at the contact between felsic and mafic volcanic rocks may be attributed to structural features that could serve as favourable emplacement sites for potential syenitic intrusions. Such intrusions represent a common metallotect for gold deposits throughout the Abitibi belt and are present in the nearby Douay area.

A helicopter-supported diamond drilling program is currently underway on the Jouvex project. Originally planned as five drill holes, the program has been expanded to include a sixth hole, increasing the total planned drilling from 1,600 to 1,900 metres. The drilling aims to test magnetic anomalies and interpreted structures that coincide with induced polarization anomalies identified during geophysical surveys completed in 2025.

The exploration team is specifically targeting positive magnetic anomalies associated with chargeability anomalies, which could indicate the presence of disseminated sulphide mineralization. These geological features might also be interpreted as extensions of the Casa-Berardi deformation zone, a significant structural feature in the region known for hosting gold mineralization.

Midland's comprehensive 2026 exploration strategy demonstrates the company's commitment to advancing Quebec's mineral potential through systematic exploration and strategic partnerships with industry leaders.
