Miata Metals Announces Major Expansion at Sela Creek Gold Project in Suriname

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Miata Metals Corp. (CSE: MMET) has released promising new drill results from its Sela Creek Gold Project in Suriname, marking a substantial advancement in the exploration of the Jons Trend zone. The company reported that the first four holes of its 2026 drilling program have successfully expanded the mineralized footprint by approximately 20%, with the lateral extent now reaching 300 meters, up from 250 meters. This expansion confirms the zone remains open in all directions for further exploration.

High-Grade Intercepts Highlight Growing Potential

The drill results include several high-grade intercepts that underscore the richness of the gold system. Notable findings include 11.3 meters at 3.58 grams per tonne (g/t) gold in hole 26DDH-JT-002, with a particularly rich section of 0.9 meters at 30.40 g/t gold. Additionally, hole 26DDH-JT-001 yielded 8.7 meters at 3.47 g/t gold, including 0.7 meters at 31.37 g/t gold. These intercepts, reported as true widths, reflect an improved structural understanding of the deposit and confirm the continuity of higher-grade mineralization across the northern portion of Jons Trend.

Other results from the program include 32 meters at 1.20 g/t gold in 26DDH-JT-001 and 17.3 meters at 1.65 g/t gold in 26DDH-JT-004, further demonstrating the bulk-tonnage potential of the zone. The expansion drilling, which stepped out about 50 meters from previous holes, has effectively increased the lateral extent and intersected multiple high-grade zones within broader mineralized envelopes.

CEO Comments on District-Scale Implications

Dr. Jaap Verbaas, CEO of Miata Metals, emphasized the growing significance of Jons Trend, stating, "With each successive drill hole, Jons Trend is evolving from a single discovery into a large, structurally controlled gold system with both bulk-tonnage potential and discrete high-grade zones. The confirmed 300-meter lateral extent and repeated high-grade intervals above 30 g/t gold highlight strong lateral continuity and tracking of richer zones." He added that Jons Trend represents only a small part of the approximately 14 kilometers of documented artisanal mining trends at Sela Creek, suggesting the project could develop into a district-scale gold system with substantial exploration upside.

The company has deployed a second drill rig to continue systematic expansion at Jons Trend while testing other high-priority targets across the concession, such as Puma, Big Berg, and Cambior. This strategic move aims to capitalize on the project's growing potential and further define its resource base.

Technical Details and Future Outlook

The drilling results are based on a fence of holes along the northern extent of Jons Trend, with all 2026 data reported as true width for accuracy. The expansion not only increases the lateral extent but also confirms that the zone remains open to the north, depth, and along strike, providing ample opportunity for future discoveries. Miata Metals plans to continue its exploration efforts, leveraging the enhanced structural insights to optimize drilling campaigns and unlock further value at Sela Creek.

As the project advances, stakeholders are closely watching for additional updates, with the company poised to build on these results to potentially establish a significant gold resource in Suriname's promising mining landscape.
