McFarlane Lake Mining Announces Significant Gold Intercept at Juby Project in Ontario
McFarlane Lake Mining Limited has reported a major gold intercept from its ongoing diamond drilling campaign at the Juby Gold Project, located west of Gowganda, Ontario, within the southern Abitibi Greenstone Belt. The drilling, which began in December 2025, has yielded promising results that expand the known gold mineralization at the Golden Lake deposit.
Key Drilling Results and Highlights
Drill hole GL 76-72 at the Golden Lake Zone intersected 92.6 meters of gold grading 0.95 grams per tonne (g/t). This intercept includes higher-grade sections of 23.9 meters at 1.72 g/t gold and 7.15 meters at 3.46 g/t gold. These findings follow a previous announcement on March 2, 2026, for drill hole GL 76-71, which reported 95.4 meters of 1.36 g/t gold.
The new results from GL 76-72 further extend the gold mineralization beyond the last mineral resource estimate, which had an effective date of September 29, 2025. This expansion indicates the potential for increased resource estimates and enhanced project viability.
Ongoing Exploration and Future Plans
Additional drilling has intercepted mineralization in holes GL 76-73A and GL 76-74, located approximately 100 meters apart along strike from the previous holes. Hole GL 76-73A logged over 100 meters of continuous mineralization, with core samples from both holes currently being prepared for laboratory analysis.
To date, approximately 5,000 meters have been drilled on the Juby Gold Project, out of an originally planned 13,000 meters. In response to the significant intercept at GL 76-71, a new hole, GL 76-76, is being drilled 100 meters step back to test the southwest extension and width of the mineralized zone.
Mark Trevisiol, CEO and Chairman of McFarlane, expressed enthusiasm about the results, stating, "Not only does today’s announcement help support expanded gold mineralization at Juby, what we are seeing in further drilling along strike is extremely encouraging. Drilling at our Golden Lake deposit is surpassing expectations. Our team is excited to be developing what is evolving into a world-class deposit."
Operational Updates and Community Engagement
A second diamond drill arrived on site on March 9, 2026, and has completed hole GL 76-74, moving on to drill GL 76-75. Originally, 14 diamond drill holes were planned, but based on feedback from current drilling, McFarlane will increase drilling at Golden Lake by at least 1,000 to 1,500 meters. One of the two diamond drills will transfer to the Juby deposit within the next 4 to 6 weeks, where approximately 4,000 to 5,000 meters are planned.
The drilling operations are conducted in partnership with two separate firms, each having business partnerships with two of the three First Nation communities that hold territorial rights on the property. These communities include Matachewan First Nation, Temagami First Nation, and Atikameksheng Anishnawbek First Nation, emphasizing the company's commitment to collaborative and respectful engagement.
This ongoing exploration at the Juby Gold Project highlights the potential for significant gold discoveries in Ontario's prolific mining region, with McFarlane Lake Mining poised to advance its efforts in developing a world-class deposit.
