Lahontan Gold Corp Announces Promising Drill Results from West Santa Fe Project
Lahontan Gold Corp, a mineral exploration company, has released additional analytical results from its 2025 maiden drilling program at the West Santa Fe satellite project. Located just 13 kilometers from the company's flagship Santa Fe Mine project in Nevada's prolific Walker Lane region, these findings highlight significant shallow oxide gold and silver mineralization.
Detailed Drill Hole Results
The latest assay results come from two reverse-circulation rotary drill holes at West Santa Fe, with the final drill hole results expected to be announced shortly. The company provided specific intercept data that demonstrates the continuity and quality of the mineralization.
WSF25-02R Drill Hole: This hole returned 48.8 meters grading 0.83 grams per tonne gold equivalent, including a higher-grade section of 10.7 meters grading 1.83 grams per tonne gold equivalent. The intercept represents very shallow oxide gold and silver mineralization that shows excellent continuity with both adjacent Lahontan drilling and historic drilling in the area. Individual intercepts within this hole reached up to 3.21 grams per tonne gold equivalent.
WSF25-05R Drill Hole: This northernmost completed drill hole returned 45.7 meters grading 0.64 grams per tonne gold equivalent, with oxide gold and silver mineralization beginning at the surface. The intercept includes 9.2 meters grading 1.29 grams per tonne gold equivalent. Precious metal mineralization in this area remains open to both the north and west, indicating potential for further expansion.
Company Leadership Comments on Findings
Kimberly Ann, Lahontan's Executive Chair, President, CEO, and Founder, commented on the significance of these results. "The drill results reported today confirm the northern extent of precious metal mineralization at West Santa Fe," she stated. "When combined with results from other Lahontan drill holes, we now confirm gold and silver mineralization with a surface expression measuring 500 by 350 meters."
Ann further explained that based on drilling to date, the thickness of the mineralization varies from approximately 35 to nearly 60 meters, with folding potentially increasing this thickness. She noted that the company has multiple permitted drill sites west, north, and east of the central mineralized zone and emphasized that they are just beginning to understand the full extent of the West Santa Fe system.
Geological Context and Future Plans
The gently dipping geometry of the mineralized zone at West Santa Fe suggests potential for inexpensive, low strip ratio, open pit mining operations in the future. The company's analysis indicates that the true thickness of the intercepts is estimated to be 75-90% of the drilled interval, with numbers potentially affected by rounding.
Lahontan Gold Corp is actively planning follow-up drilling while awaiting the final results from the 2025 drill program. The company trades on multiple exchanges under the symbols TSXV:LG, OTCQB:LGCXF, and FSE:Y2F, maintaining its focus on exploration and development in Nevada's mineral-rich regions.
