Harfang Exploration Announces Comprehensive Winter 2026 Exploration Program
MONTREAL – Harfang Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: HAR) has revealed detailed plans for its fully-funded winter exploration activities across its portfolio of wholly-owned projects in Eeyou Istchee James Bay, Québec, and Ontario. The company's strategic program aims to advance several high-priority assets toward drilling through systematic geological evaluation.
Serpent Project: Maiden Diamond Drilling Program
At the Serpent project, Harfang will initiate its first-ever diamond drilling program, consisting of approximately 10 holes totaling an estimated 1,500 metres. This three-week program, scheduled for completion by the end of March, will focus on the Mista target—a 650-metre-long copper-gold-silver system discovered in 2019 that has never been drilled below surface.
Exploration work to date at Mista has identified surface mineralization across a 350-metre strike length, with DC-IP survey results indicating a significant chargeability anomaly suggesting potential mineralization extending over 650 metres. Mineralization is associated with quartz stockwork hosted in fine-grained quartz arenites and wackes at the contact with the tonalitic gneiss of the Langelier Complex.
Notable assay results from Mista include:
- 1.69% copper, 0.96 g/t gold, 15.4 g/t silver (grab sample)
- 1.56% copper, 0.26 g/t gold, 9.0 g/t silver (grab sample)
- 1.00% copper, 0.21 g/t gold, 7.9 g/t silver over 12.9 metres (channel sample)
Menarik West Project: DC-IP Survey Underway
Harfang, in partnership with SOQUEM, has already commenced direct current-induced polarization (DC-IP) surveys at the Menarik West project. These surveys focus on the Pierre intrusion and the newly identified Cox zone, where gold mineralization is associated with disseminated sulphides and silica alteration.
The DC-IP survey, expected to be completed by the end of February, represents a critical step in generating drill targets for a fully funded 2027 diamond drilling program. This systematic approach aims to identify subsurface chargeability anomalies that can be translated into high-confidence drilling targets.
Blakelock Project: Final Steps Toward Drilling
At the Blakelock property, Harfang will complete a deep DC-IP survey focused on the eastern half of the project area. With data compilation now finalized, this survey represents the final preparatory step before generating diamond drill targets for a planned 2027 drilling program. The Blakelock DC-IP survey is scheduled for completion by the end of March.
Strategic Vision and Technical Approach
Rick Breger, President and CEO of Harfang, emphasized the strategic importance of the winter 2026 program: "We are eager to continue our winter exploration program across our project portfolio, which will advance several high-priority assets toward drilling. At Serpent, we will drill the Mista target—a compelling copper-gold-silver system discovered in 2019 that has yet to be tested below surface. This drill program is particularly exciting as it marks the first drill test of a well-defined target developed through years of surface work."
Breger further explained the technical rationale behind the program: "From a technical perspective, the winter 2026 program is designed to systematically advance each project. At Serpent, drilling will test the Mista target where coincident geological, geochemical, and geophysical indicators point to a shallow mineralized system. The DC-IP surveys at Menarik West and Blakelock are critical for identifying subsurface anomalies that can be directly translated into high-confidence drill targets."
The company's approach reflects a disciplined exploration strategy that leverages modern geophysical techniques and targeted drilling to efficiently evaluate and prioritize the most prospective assets. This systematic methodology positions Harfang to move effectively into the next phase of exploration and potential discovery across its Canadian project portfolio.
