VANCOUVER, British Columbia – GoldHaven Resources Corp. (CSE: GOH | OTCQB: GHVNF | Frankfurt: 4QS) has announced a significant milestone in its exploration efforts, successfully completing an initial eight-hole diamond drilling program at its wholly-owned Copeçal Gold Project located in Mato Grosso State, Brazil. The company has now expanded the campaign, with a ninth drill hole currently in progress to investigate a promising sulphide intersection discovered in an earlier hole.
Initial Drilling Campaign Yields Encouraging Signs
The maiden reconnaissance drilling program, designed to test high-priority gold targets identified through soil and auger geochemistry alongside geophysical surveys, has concluded its first phase. To date, the program has completed 889.55 metres of drilling across eight holes. This work was evenly split between the East and West Targets, with 441.7 metres drilled in four holes at the East Target and 447.85 metres in four holes at the West Target.
The most notable development came from hole COPE-PDH-004 at the East Target. Drillers intersected a zone of sulphide mineralization—specifically fine-grained, disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite—from a depth of 79 metres to the end of the hole at 100.25 metres. This mineralization is associated with weak to moderate phyllic alteration within a sheared biotite granitoid.
Ninth Hole Targets Depth Extension of Mineralization
In direct response to the findings in hole COPE-PDH-004, GoldHaven has mobilized for a ninth drill hole. Hole COPE-PDH-009 is now advancing and is planned to reach a down-hole depth of approximately 200 metres. Its primary objective is to test the depth extension of the sulphide mineralization encountered in the previous hole, aiming to assess the potential scale and continuity of this emerging mineralized zone.
Rob Birmingham, President & CEO of GoldHaven Resources, stated, "We are encouraged by the progress made during this initial drill campaign at Copeçal. The sulphide interval intersected in Hole COPE-PDH-004 is the strongest subsurface evidence we’ve seen to date supporting the robust gold anomalism outlined at surface." He emphasized that the decision to add the follow-up hole reflects the company's disciplined approach to advancing high-priority targets.
West Target Results and Next Steps
At the West Target, the four completed holes penetrated through a saprolite (weathered rock) layer to an unexpected vertical depth of approximately 50 metres before reaching bedrock, which consists of sheared granodiorite gneiss and biotite schist. Geological logging and sampling of these holes are currently in progress.
With the ninth hole scheduled for completion later this week, the initial reconnaissance phase will conclude. The company will then proceed with comprehensive geological logging, sampling, and submission of all drill core for assay. Results from holes COPE-PDH-004 and the saprolite portions of holes 001 and 002 are currently pending. GoldHaven has committed to providing detailed updates on assay results and geological interpretations as they become available, marking the next critical step in evaluating the discovery potential of the Copeçal project.
