Cartier Resources Announces Major Gold Discoveries at Cadillac Project in Val-d'Or
Cartier Resources Inc., a prominent mineral exploration company trading on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol ECR, has revealed exciting new drill results from its ongoing 100,000-meter drilling program at the Cadillac Project. Located in the prolific Val-d'Or region of Quebec's Abbitibi territory, these findings highlight significant high-grade gold zones and substantial extensions to known mineralization.
Impressive Drill Results Reveal High-Grade Gold Intercepts
The company's latest batch of results from the Contact Sector, specifically focusing on the North Contact Zone and its eastern extension, demonstrates remarkable gold concentrations. Among the most notable intercepts are:
- CA25-559 intersected an exceptional 54.6 grams per tonne gold over 1.0 meter, including an even richer section of 85.1 g/t Au over 0.5 meters within the NC1 Zone.
- CA25-558 graded 4.4 g/t Au over 6.0 meters, with a higher-grade section of 23.2 g/t Au over 1.0 meter in the NC3 Zone.
- CA25-557 reported 7.5 g/t Au over 0.5 meters in the NC3 Zone.
These results come from the seventh batch of drilling in Cartier's comprehensive exploration program, which utilizes two drill rigs to systematically evaluate the property's potential.
Significant Extension of Mineralized System
Perhaps most importantly, drill holes CA25-557, 558, and 559 have successfully extended the North Contact Zone's mineralized system by approximately 500 meters along strike to the east. This expansion significantly increases the known footprint of the gold-bearing structures and demonstrates strong geological continuity throughout the Contact Sector.
The North Contact Zone itself consists of three parallel high-grade gold zones—NC1, NC2, and NC3—spaced approximately 50 meters apart. Additional drilling within the established NCZ area has confirmed that mineralization extends to surface and remains open at depth, with notable intercepts including:
- CA25-554: 1.5 g/t Au over 15.5 meters (NC3 Zone)
- CA25-547: 1.2 g/t Au over 13.2 meters (NC3 Zone)
- CA25-552: 1.0 g/t Au over 10.5 meters (NC3 Zone)
Strategic Implications for Development
The combination of these high-grade discoveries and the substantial extension of the mineralized system has important implications for the Cadillac Project's development potential. The North Contact Zone now represents an extensive gold system measuring approximately 400 meters in strike length by 300 meters in depth, comprised of multiple stacked zones with significant grades, widths, and continuity.
Several factors position the Contact Sector as particularly strategic for potential development:
- Exposed bedrock with minimal overburden (approximately 5 meters)
- Proximity to year-round road access (within 250 meters)
- Shallow mineralization supporting potential for near-surface development scenarios
These characteristics could lead to more flexible operating scenarios and improved project economics should the property advance toward production.
Future Exploration Plans and Corporate Vision
Cartier Resources plans to continue its aggressive exploration program with further expansion drilling designed to:
- Extend NCZ gold mineralization at depth (300-600 meter range)
- Connect the footprint of the NCZ with its eastern extensions
- Determine areas of gold enrichment to upgrade mineral resource estimates
The company also intends to test several new high-priority regional targets along strike of the Contact Sector and the Héva Fault Zone, utilizing detailed structural modeling and artificial intelligence-driven targeting through VRIFY technology.
"This discovery and results conclude what was planned at the Contact Sector of the current 100,000-meter program," stated Philippe Cloutier, President and CEO of Cartier Resources. "Obviously, we're convinced of the high gold potential of this segment of the Héva Fault and we are actively working to increase the current drilling program to 250,000 metres. The Contact Sector will no doubt receive focussed attention. This expanded campaign is designed to unlock maximum shareholder value and demonstrate the Cadillac Project's potential as a mining camp scale."
The Cadillac Project is 100% owned by Cartier Resources and represents a significant exploration opportunity in one of Canada's most established mining jurisdictions. Quebec's mining-friendly policies and established infrastructure continue to attract exploration investment, with the Val-d'Or region remaining particularly active for gold discovery and development.
