Alamos Gold Announces Significant Exploration Success Across Mulatos District

Alamos Gold Inc., a prominent Canadian mining company, has released new surface exploration drilling results from its Mulatos District operations in Mexico. The company reports substantial extensions of high-grade gold mineralization across multiple key targets, including Puerto Del Aire (PDA), Cerro Pelon, and a promising new discovery at Halcon.

Continued Expansion of Mineralization Zones

The latest drilling activities have successfully extended high-grade gold mineralization beyond existing Mineral Reserves at Puerto Del Aire and Mineral Resources at Cerro Pelon. This represents significant progress in the company's ongoing exploration efforts within the district. Additionally, drilling in a newly prioritized area at Halcon has intersected wide intervals of substantial sulphide-hosted gold mineralization, marking an important new discovery for the company.

John A. McCluskey, President and Chief Executive Officer of Alamos Gold, emphasized the strategic importance of these findings: "Over the past several years, our focus within the Mulatos District has shifted to targeting higher grade sulphide mineralization. Our long-term track record of exploration success has continued, having defined more than a million ounces of Mineral Reserves at PDA, and an initial Mineral Resource at Cerro Pelon."

Cerro Pelon Drilling Results

Step-out drilling at Cerro Pelon, located approximately nine kilometres by road from the planned PDA mill, continues to intersect significant high-grade mineralization. The drilling has extended and defined new structurally controlled feeder structures below and north of the previously mined oxide deposit. This development is expected to drive further growth in higher-grade Mineral Resources at this location.

Notable drilling highlights from Cerro Pelon include:

  • 5.60 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 23.85 metres
  • 5.85 g/t gold over 17.35 metres (5.93 metres true width)
  • 6.58 g/t gold over 15.15 metres
  • 6.64 g/t gold over 12.05 metres (8.67 metres true width)
  • 4.28 g/t gold over 14.10 metres
  • 4.08 g/t gold over 13.70 metres
  • 12.95 g/t gold over 4.25 metres
  • 6.13 g/t gold over 7.20 metres
  • 6.49 g/t gold over 6.05 metres (2.75 metres true width)

Puerto Del Aire Progress and Future Plans

At Puerto Del Aire, drilling continues to extend high-grade gold mineralization beyond existing Mineral Reserves and Resources. While limited drilling was completed in 2025 at PDA as the focus shifted to construction activities, exploration drilling is scheduled to resume from underground as development advances and drill platforms become established.

The PDA project remains on track for initial production in mid-2027 and will include the construction of a mill specifically designed to process higher-grade sulphide ore from PDA. This infrastructure development opens up new opportunities to define and incorporate additional sulphide ore from across the Mulatos District.

Strategic Implications and District Potential

The Cerro Pelon, Halcon, and other targets across the Mulatos District, including La Yaqui Grande, represent significant upside potential for the PDA project as potential sources of additional higher-grade sulphide ore. The ongoing exploration success highlights both the substantial growth opportunities for the PDA project and the tremendous exploration potential across the entire Mulatos District.

McCluskey further noted: "Ongoing success over the past year is expected to drive further Resource growth at Cerro Pelon, and resulted in a new discovery at Halcon, highlighting both the significant upside opportunities to the PDA project, and tremendous exploration potential across the Mulatos District."

All financial amounts referenced in the announcement are in United States dollars, unless otherwise specified. The company continues to demonstrate its commitment to expanding its mineral resources through systematic exploration and development within its established mining districts.
