Ford of Canada and Unifor have reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year national labour contract, covering more than 5,000 unionized employees across the country. The announcement was made on July 11, 2026, by Meredith Keenan, vice president of Human Resources at Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited.

Ratification Process Underway

The tentative agreement is subject to ratification by Ford-Unifor members. In a statement, Ford of Canada said it will not discuss the specifics of the tentative agreement out of respect for the ratification process. The company emphasized its commitment to reaching a fair deal for employees while maintaining competitiveness.

Ford's Canadian Operations

Ford of Canada operates a national headquarters, three vehicle assembly and engine manufacturing plants, three parts distribution centres, and three Connectivity and Innovation centres. The company employs approximately 6,500 people in Canada, with an additional 20,000 employed across roughly 430 Ford and Ford-Lincoln dealerships nationwide. The tentative agreement covers a significant portion of Ford's unionized workforce in Canada.
