RCMP in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island have recovered approximately $20,000 worth of STIHL outdoor power equipment stolen from a business in London, Ontario. The theft was discovered in late May 2026, and an investigation led police across multiple provinces.

How the stolen goods were traced

According to RCMP, the stolen products were identified through serial numbers and distribution records. Investigators worked with the manufacturer to track the equipment after it was reported missing from a London retailer. The items included chainsaws, trimmers, and blowers.

“We were able to locate the products in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island through cooperation with local businesses and the public,” said RCMP Corporal Julie Rogers in a statement. “This case highlights the importance of recording serial numbers.”

Police executed search warrants at multiple locations in both provinces, seizing the equipment. No arrests have been made yet, but the investigation is ongoing. The RCMP encourages anyone with information to contact their local detachment or Crime Stoppers.

The London business, which has not been named, confirmed the loss and is working with insurance providers. The recovered products will be returned once the investigation concludes.
