Two Charged After $10K AC Stolen from Windsor Home

Two men are facing multiple charges after an air conditioning unit valued at $10,000 was stolen from a residence in south Windsor. Windsor police confirmed that the stolen property has been recovered.

Details of the Theft

Police responded on June 11 to a theft report at a home in the 9800 block of Cabana Road East. According to investigators, two suspects cut the wiring to the home's air conditioning unit around 6 a.m. and fled the scene with the unit.

Arrests Made

The first suspect was located and arrested on June 17 around 7:30 p.m. by officers from the Windsor Police Service problem-oriented policing unit in the 2600 block of Richmond Street. The second suspect was arrested on June 29, just after 7 p.m., by officers from the OPP-led repeat offender parole enforcement squad at his residence in Lakeshore.

Charges Laid

A 35-year-old man faces charges of damage to property under $5,000 and theft over $5,000. A 44-year-old man has been charged with damage to property under $5,000, theft over $5,000, breach of probation, and two counts of operation while prohibited. Police did not provide further details on the recovery of the stolen air conditioner.
