Toronto Police are requesting the public's assistance in locating a 24-year-old man wanted for aggravated assault following an incident in East York. Alexander Paupanekis of Toronto is accused of repeatedly assaulting a victim known to him on Monday in the O'Connor Drive and Bermondsey Road area. The victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Paupanekis is described as 6-foot-2 with a heavy build and black hair. Mississauga Man Accused of Defrauding Dental Office
A 36-year-old Mississauga man faces fraud and other charges after a lengthy financial crime investigation by Halton Regional Police. The investigation began in April 2025 over allegations that a former employee of an Oakville dental office redirected business funds into bank accounts under his control. Police found that more than $235,000 were allegedly redirected between May 2023 and January 2025. Ngoc Tuan Nguyen was charged on May 1 with fraud over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and laundering proceeds of crime. Investigators believe the accused may have worked at additional dental offices and are concerned there may be more victims. Youths Charged in Shooting Probe
Toronto Police have charged three 17-year-olds from the Greater Toronto Area with various offences following a firearm discharge investigation. On April 13 at about 9:45 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the Lawrence Avenue East and Morningside Avenue area, where two people allegedly discharged firearms at a motor vehicle and fled. No injuries were reported. On Friday, the three youths were arrested in an unrelated investigation. A male youth from Whitby faces six firearm-related charges and one count of breach of probation. A male youth from Oshawa faces five firearm-related charges, two counts of failure to comply with a release order, and one count of failure to comply with an undertaking. A male youth from Toronto faces three firearm-related charges and two counts of breach of probation. Bullets Fired in Bowmanville
Durham Regional Police are searching for at least one suspect after a residence was shot up in Bowmanville. On Saturday at about 4:30 a.m., officers responded to an armed person call at a residence in the area of Mann Street and Tucker Road. A male exited a four-door sedan and fired multiple shots toward a residence before fleeing. No injuries have been reported.
